Where shall we go to find a new story?

About Me

Because I’ve personally lived in a variety of places around the world, and am well travelled, I set my stories in a range of places. I’m a very complex person with some interesting histories… all of which has contributed to my wanting to share stories I have uncovered during my unconventional life so far.

To find out why I was inspired to write some of my books, and how I write, when I write and most of all WHY I write, check out my ‘All About Me’ page.  I look forward to sharing more about what’s behind my work and what else is coming up for me.

My Books

From people I’ve met who have had a huge impact on me, to those I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know for a variety of reasons, and then the places where my imagination just takes over my life and I write.  I write about people, places, and experiences, and love to weave wonderful stories to share. I invite you to check out my work – the psychological thrillers, the biographical stories, and the fascinating love stories… travel the world with me and let’s see where we land.

FAQs

What are your books about:

Most explore controversial characters that I’ve met in real-life. The plots involve romantic relationships and the associated family saga with emotional and psychological suspense. Some of the most innocuous people have lived through some challenging times.

Duplicity, also a true story, is a young woman’s journey to survive a dysfunctional upbringing and develop a client business, becoming extraordinarily wealthy.

In the past year I’ve begun to write across multi-genre and have just completed my first psychological thriller, The Foster Mother is also based on a true story.

Why do you write across many genres?

Why do you write historical, contemporary, biographical, suspense and romance?

It’s conventional for writers to stay in genre and target readers. It’s makes logical business sense, but I know myself! I read across many different genres and enjoy all kinds of stories with intriguing characters. I’d be bored stiff staying in one lane and writing very similar books. It’s a risk and much harder to draw readers but at least I’m enjoying the challenge and love writing across different genres.

What are the genres you write about the most?

Mostly historical, contemporary, biographical, suspense and romance but I often mix these up within the books.  So, some are both biographical and with a dose of historical suspense, like No Ordinary Man and Crows Nest.

What the Readers think…

"

No Ordinary Man:

“Long after you have put the book down, haunting images remain – such is the power and pull of Nicky’s words in ‘No Ordinary Man’. She has a sound grasp of her characters and the storyline of a war that impacted the entire world. What surprised me was the level of compassion and the resolution of this compelling story.”

"

Crows Song:

“This is a story that holds your attention as it explores the lives of two young people and their families during WWII. It especially captures their experiences in Britain and Holland. A factually enlightening and heart-warming tale of courage and strength told in a way that keeps you totally involved with the characters. An uplifting read for the times we live in to remind us of the fortitude required to survive and rebuild lives as they managed to do.”

Duplicity:

Wow, I just put this book down with one of those lingering afterglows you get when you want to savor what you’ve just read… This is certainly a unique story!
